Calories in Fresh Fruit

You will find that there are calories in fresh fruit- an average of 45-125, like in any food you eat.

However fruits, along with vegetables, are great for your health as they are full of dietary fiber, minerals and vitamins and you need to try and eat five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Fruits certainly are not full of empty calories!

The amount of calories in fresh fruit varies a lot. From very low calorie red berries or blue berries to higher calorie bananas, melon and mango, they all have something great to offer and come with amazing health benefits.

So it is best to benefit from different color and type of fruits as long as you are not on a strict weight loss diet or a diabetic.

Choose an apple over an apple pie, banana over a chocolate bar, grapes over dried sultanas and raisins.

Choose an apple over an apple pie, banana over a chocolate bar (although high in calories, still 1/3 of an average chocolate bar), grapes over dried sultanas and raisins (dried fruits are condensed and contain much higher calories). You will feel better for it, lighter, thinner and in better shape in no time!

Please remember that although dried fruits in moderation are much better than candy bars and fruit juices are definitely way better than soft drinks, you are still better off eating an orange- 60 calories than a glass of orange juice- 120 calories or half a cup of dried fruits- 250 calories.

Whole fruits are always lower in calories and your healthier and slimmer body will thank you for adding them to your diet.

*Before we continue with the calories in fresh fruit, I'd like to tell you about a healthy diet program that uses a lot of the low GI and lower calorie foods: Isabel de los Rios' 'The Diet Solution Program'.

The Diet Solution Program favours a long term health orientated approach to fat loss, but not offering anyone a quick fix to their weight troubles. It has loads of valuable data and research to support its approach. I personally investigated the program thoroughly and my mum has been using it for a while now. I have to say she got some great results.

The nutrition plan is one of the healthiest we have seen, a strong core focus on vegetables, fruits, vitamin dense foods, lean proteins, select dairy produce and a clear approach to not expecting one diet to work for all body types. So give it a go and let me know how you went. 'The Diet Solution Program' is without a doubt one of the best diet programs out there.*
