Forget About Being Fat

by Ben

I am not going back to my old ways

I am not going back to my old ways

I am a 30 years old man and I weighed 220 pounds a few months ago.

At first it did not disturb me or I did not pay attention to the fact that I was awfully fat. My wife always told me that I needed to lose weight but of course I did nothing for that. Until the day that I felt I can’t walk a lot and it was difficult for me to breathe.

This very day I decided to take care of me and my body. One of the diets that helped me was eating rice without any salt and butter. Eating that 10 days a month I lost 5 pounds. But that was not enough.

Soon, from the internet I learned about non-fad diets and this seemed to me sensible enough and I decided to stick with it. Non-fad diets usually consist of three parts.

First I started eating healthy and fresh foods. Second I started thinking always positive, thinking that everything is possible and I never gave up. And the third thing that I liked and did with great pleasure was moving a lot, walking and exercising.

One diet that I liked and that helped me a lot was GI. The Glycemic Index- GI is very difficult to understand but very useful and healthy. It is related to the way human body’s sugar responds to certain foods. Low glycemic foods assist those who want to lose weight:

It increases the energy level of the body in order to keep up with daily requirements. By eating low glycemic foods, I did not feel the need for eating too much.

Of course this diet helped me a lot, but I did not forget about exercising; any diet should be followed by exercises.

Now I weigh only 170 pounds and am certainly determined to maintain it.
