Diet for Hypoglycemic Condition

Diet for Hypoglycemic Condition

A diabetic person needs to control their diet as they are required to keep a check on the blood sugar levels and to maintain normal body fat along with ideal body weight. When followed strictly, this will ensure a good and healthy life for a diabetic person.

Failure to control leads to high blood sugar levels and also hypoglycemic condition where blood sugar level falls below normal and this can be dangerous. The main causes of hypoglycemia are too much insulin, skipping meals, eating little food or excessive physical activity.

Diabetic people should eat the right amount of food at the same time each day to keep their blood sugar levels stable. So to avoid delays the patient suffering from diabetes should always carry some form of sugar on them.

The total calorie intake of a diabetic person is calculated based on the lifestyle, medication, weight, age, other diseases and physical activity. Dietary management in cardiovascular diseases can be obtained by reducing the calorie intake thereby reducing the body weight.

Saturated fats should be strictly avoided. Complex carbohydrates in wholegrain wheat flour, oats and legumes are recommended. Consumption of dietary fibers like leafy vegetables, unpeeled raw fruits have a beneficial effect on the lipid profile.

Therefore a moderate diet with carbohydrates, modified fat and low sodium intake is ideal for hypertensive as well as obese diabetic patients.
