Simple and Tasty and Healthy!
Two recipes which really helped me in my quest to lose weight - which I can assure has been many quests! They are low fat potato salad and steamed broccoli in yogurt recipes. For the
low-fat potato salad - which really filled me up, I boiled white potatoes until soft, cut them into cubes, then added chopped fresh parsley, some tablespoons of lemon juice and olive oil in equal amounts and some salt and curry powder.
One doesn't have to sacrifice taste or satiety when trying to lose weight. The other recipe which really helped me and filled me up was
steamed broccoli florets mixed into plain low fat yogurt. I added salt and black pepper according to taste.
I was surprised at just how much
filling and tasty it was for such a simple recipe. These recipes definitely saved me from munching on my all favorite pizzas and fries. With the broccoli it helped a lot as I knew I was eating a beneficial and healthy vegetable.
Sometimes eating plain vegetables by themselves aren't very appetizing, but
combined with yogurt and flavoring such as salt and pepper, it makes the whole thing nice. It is also great for winter weather as the steamed broccoli warms the yogurt, as if it is a nice white, rich and creamy sauce.
The low fat potato salad I ate was fresh, especially from the parsley and lemon juice. Potatoes are often considered as bad diet food, but it
depends on how you cook them and
what you eat them with. This variation is a healthy one and one that is filling. I often
don't need to eat meat when I have this low fat potato salad.
*Here I'd like to tell you about my favorite diet program that uses a lot of the healthy lower GI foods: Isabel de los Rios' 'The Diet Solution Program'.
The Diet Solution Program favours a long term health orientated approach to fat loss, but not offering anyone a quick fix to their weight troubles. It has loads of valuable data and research to support its approach. I personally investigated the program thoroughly and my mum has been using it for a while now. I have to say she got some great results.
The nutrition plan is one of the healthiest we have seen, a strong core focus on vegetables, fruits, vitamin dense foods, lean proteins, select dairy produce and a clear approach to not expecting one diet to work for all body types. So give it a try and let me know how you’re doing.*
