Low GI Foods Vs. Ready to Eat Packed Foods

by C. Agusto
(Croatia)

I am really not sure, how good these low fat packed readily available foods are? Nowadays we find everyone switching to a low fat diet. It is in a way good, no doubt about that. But when people buy low fat foods from outside, I am really not sure how good they are.

These outside packed foods claim to be low in fat, low in sugar and low in calories; which if true, can be pretty helpful. But how does one know whether it is really true?

For instance, many packed ready to eat foods lose a lot of nutrients while they are processed, thus lowering their nutritional value. These foods also don’t have a long shelf life, and hence are to be consumed within the time frame.

Also, nowadays, frozen foods are a lot in craze and people love to stack them up in their freezers. But here too, these foods contain an ample amount of salt and sugar. These foods are also chemically processed and have very little nutritional content.

On the contrary, natural and fresh foods with low glycemic index if included in your daily diet, serves the purpose. Instead of opting for such ready to eat packed foods, it is advisable to eat these foods with low GI; which not only helps one lose weight but also keeps one healthy and strong.

Low GI foods are not only nutritional but also tend to be good value for money. Each food with low GI, provides maximum benefits for your body and mind. Remember, healthy eating is healthy living. Go for it.
