Mango Smoothie Recipe

Healthy Mango Smoothies

Healthy Mango Smoothies

Do you have caffeine, sugar or junk foods when you need an energy boost? If you answered yes, you're like most people. Caffeine, junk food and sugar will give you the quick energy boost your body is craving.

However this effect will last only a short time. Your energy will soon come crashing down to a level that makes you feel drained, which in turn makes your craving even stronger.

That's why, whenever I need an energy boost, I reach for the blender and mix up one of these healthy smoothie recipes.

A healthy mango smoothie recipe will make you one of the most nutritious — and delicious — meals on earth. Healthy fruit smoothies are loaded with phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals and enzymes that come in a whole-food form.

Tropical Mango Smoothie Recipe:

It is a good idea to add juice to your smoothie. When using juice, if you want to make it healthier, make the juice yourself. Don't have time? At least buy and use the 'no added sugar' ones.

Feel free to add some coconut milk or coconut cream to your mango smoothie recipe. It really gives a beautiful tropical taste to it!

Ingredients:

1 peeled, diced and freezed mango

1 peeled banana

1 cup unsweetened plain yoghurt

1 cup pineapple juice

1-2tbs honey(optional)

Preparation:

Peel and cut the mango around its stone (don't want to put the mango stone in your blender)

Dice the mango and have it in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

Place all the ingredients in a blender.

Blend until smooth (ca 3 min)

Blueberry Mango Smoothie Recipe:

Cold and delicious this filling smoothie is great for a quick breakfast or light snack. You can omit ice as you're using frozen blueberries and substitute with strawberries, cantaloupe, bananas etc.

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen blueberries

1 cup frozen mango chunks

2 cups vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup sparkling water or your favourite juice

How to make it:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and whiz until smooth.

If smoothie is too thick add a little more water or juice. Serve.

*Hope you enjoyed these mango smoothie recipes, now I'd like to tell you about my favorite diet program that uses a lot of the healthy lower GI foods: Isabel de los Rios' 'The Diet Solution Program'.

The Diet Solution Program favours a long term health orientated approach to fat loss, but not offering anyone a quick fix to their weight troubles. It has loads of valuable data and research to support its approach. I personally investigated the program thoroughly and my mum has been using it for a while now. I have to say she got some great results.

The nutrition plan is one of the healthiest we have seen, a strong core focus on vegetables, fruits, vitamin dense foods, lean proteins, select dairy produce and a clear approach to not expecting one diet to work for all body types. So give it a try and let me know how you’re doing.*
