MSG Side Effects and Dangers

Monosodium Glutamate- MSG is still widely used in many different processed foods as a flavor enhancer, despite all the warnings about what it can do to one’s  health.

• Foods cooked with cheap and nasty ingredients can be turned intototally irresistible by the simple addition of MSG.

• Contrary to common belief, MSG consumption in Western countries are found to be much higher than in Asian countries.

• No matter how much you tried to read your labels in supermarkets and not to buy anything that has MSG in ingredients list, it is literally in almost every processed food under different hidden names. ‘No added MSG’ on the label usually doesn’t mean a lot.

• This substance literally shocks your nervous system, it is an excitoxin that excites your brain greatly, its side effects are quite hard to avoid and they are found to be similar to that of certain neurological drugs in some MSG-sensitive people.

• It is unknown why some people react to monosodium glutamate strongly and others do not at all and why it produces such a great variety of symptoms. However the presence and severity of the symptoms are usually related to the MSG dose.

• MSG seems to hit you at your weakest point with the brain usually being the worst affected part of your body. The reactions to the substance can happen straight after eating or up to two to three days later.

• It is naturally found in most foods but this does not make the artificially created monosodium glutamate added to refined foods safe at all.Naturally found MSG and artificial MSG are two totally different things.
