Tandoori Chicken Recipe

by Secretsofhealthyeating.com

Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori chicken recipe is a very popular one. Flavored by a yogurt and spice paste with ginger, cumin, and turmeric, this chicken tastes almost as good as if it were cooked in a tandoor oven.

Tandoori Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

500 g chicken breast fillet (cut into large chunks)

1 cup low fat plain yoghurt

1 teaspoon crushed garlic

1 teaspoon crushed ginger

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

0.5 teaspoon turmeric

0.5 teaspoon tandoori food colour

5 wholemeal wraps

Salt to taste

Cucumber slices and yoghurt to serve

Corainder leaves to garnish

Preparation:

• Preheat oven to 220 degrees celsius.

• Grease a large baking tray with olive oil spray.

• In a bowl, combine yoghurt, garlic, ginger, olive oil, lemon juice, and spices.

• Add chicken pieces to the yoghurt mixture and coat well.

• Leave chicken to marinate in the fridge for 3 hours.

• Place chicken in the baking tray and roast for 30 minutes.

• Divide the chicken into 5 portions.

• Place each portion in a wrap, and top with yoghurt and cucumber.

• Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

*Here I'd like to tell you about my favorite diet program that uses a lot of the healthy lower GI foods: Isabel de los Rios' 'The Diet Solution Program'.

The Diet Solution Program favours a long term health orientated approach to fat loss, but not offering anyone a quick fix to their weight troubles. It has loads of valuable data and research to support its approach. I personally investigated the program thoroughly and my mum has been using it for a while now. I have to say she got some great results.

The nutrition plan is one of the healthiest we have seen, a strong core focus on vegetables, fruits, vitamin dense foods, lean proteins, select dairy produce and a clear approach to not expecting one diet to work for all body types. So give it a try and let me know how you’re doing.*
