So does vodka really have certain health benefits?

• Well, it does not contain any vitamins and minerals.

Weight Loss? Not a great idea as vodka is quite high in calories: 230 calories per 100g.

• Diabetes and heart disease have long been associated with inflammation in arteries, which can lead to build-up of cholesterol, as well as high blood pressure. Thrush and irritable bowel syndrome may be tackled with vodka in small doses.

Moderation is the key and if you are not a drinker, starting to drink vodka or alcohol is not recommended. You may perhaps have a reduced risk of heart disease but what about other complications like liver and kidney damage and alcohol's effect on your pancreas? You will have a much better chance of living a longer and a healthier life with a balanced diet and exercising regularly.
