• Well, it does not contain any vitamins and minerals.
• Weight Loss? Not a great idea as vodka is quite high in calories: 230 calories per 100g.
• Can vodka help reduce the risk of heart disease? There are preliminary studies that claimed that moderate drinking can help treat heart problems and certain cancers, but they are hardly conclusive.
• Diabetes and heart disease have long been associated with inflammation in arteries, which can lead to build-up of cholesterol, as well as high blood pressure. Moderate amounts of alcohol have long been believed to have an anti-inflammatory effect or boost the good- HDL cholesterol levels. A new trial in Holland is testing the ability of vodka and orange juice in tackling blocked up arteries.

Moderation is the key and if you are not a drinker, starting to drink vodka or alcohol is not recommended. You may perhaps have a reduced risk of heart disease but what about other complications like liver and kidney damage and alcohol's effect on your pancreas? You will have a much better chance of living a longer and a healthier life with a balanced diet and exercising regularly.
