Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 1 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 cup pine nuts
  • 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt (preferably sea salt for better flavor)

Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe

 

Preparation:

  • Rinse basil leaves, dry them with paper towels.
  • Peel the garlic, puree the pine nuts, basil leaves and garlic in a food processor.
  • Add 1/3 of the extra virgin olive oil and turn on the processor.
  • Do this two more times adding 1/3 olive oil each time and continue pureeing.
  • Take the mixture out of the food processor, sprinkle the salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Stir in the shaved Parmesan cheese and serve!
