Basil Pesto Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch of basil
- 1 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3/4 cup pine nuts
- 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Salt (preferably sea salt for better flavor)
Preparation:
- Rinse basil leaves, dry them with paper towels.
- Peel the garlic, puree the pine nuts, basil leaves and garlic in a food processor.
- Add 1/3 of the extra virgin olive oil and turn on the processor.
- Do this two more times adding 1/3 olive oil each time and continue pureeing.
- Take the mixture out of the food processor, sprinkle the salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Stir in the shaved Parmesan cheese and serve!
