Celery Salad Recipe

You’ll find three lovely celery salad recipes on this page. First one is an avocado, chicken and celery salad, the second one has walnuts and mandarin on top and the third one is more Turkish with barley noodles and walnuts.

The name of ‘celery salad with avocado, chicken and walnuts’ may sound unusual at first but as soon as you taste the salad, you’ll realise it is so much more than unusual : )

 

Celery Salad Recipe- with Avocado, Chicken and Walnuts

Ingredients:

• 2 chicken thighs

• 1 celery

• 1 green apple

• 1 cup yogurt

• 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

• Salt

• Black pepper

On top of salad:

• Avocados

• Orange

• Lettuce

 

Preparation:

• Boil chicken thighs and remove the meat off the bones.

• Mix yoghurt and mayonnaise in a deep bowl, peel the green apple and grate it into the yogurt mixture.

• Marinate the chicken with salt and pepper. Put a little chicken and a little celery salad on the bottom of the dish, then add lettuce, avocado and orange pieces on top and enjoy! Bon Appetite.

Celery Salad Recipe- with Mandarin and Walnuts

Ingredients:

• 2 medium celeriacs

• Half a lemon juice

• 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

• 2 tablespoons yogurt

• 2 cloves garlic

• 2 tablespoons walnuts

 

Preparation:

• Peel off the outer shell of hard celeriacs.

• Put the lemon juice and water in a deep bowl.

• Cut the celeriacs into very thin round shapes with the help of large section of a grater or a food processor and immediately put in them in the lemony water.

• After the chopping is completed, take 3-4 round thin pieces, put them on the chopping board and cut them into match sticks and immediately place them in the lemony water.

• On the other side mix mayonnaise, yogurt, crushed garlic and salt.

• Drain the celery sticks by removing them from the lemon water and gently squeezing them.

• Add them into mayonnaise- yogurt mixture and mix them well.

• Put them on a serving dish, and sprinkle walnut pieces on top.

Note: To achieve a sweet and sour taste, just add some not so sour mandarin pieces on top of your salad, after taking out the white bits of the fruits. It will also smell so nice that you won’t even notice you are eating celery.

 

Celery Salad Recipe- with Barley Noodles

Ingredients:

• 1 cup barley noodles

• 1 cup plain yogurt

• 2 garlic cloves

• 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

• 1 medium celeriac, grated

• 6 walnuts, chopped

• Salt to taste

 

Preparation:

• Fry barley noodles with two tablespoons of sunflower oil in a teflon pan, add two glasses of water and salt and cook.

• Mix boiled or sautéed noodles in a large bowl with yogurt, garlic, grated celery and mayonnaise.

• Sprinkle walnuts on top and serve.
