Dieting Should Not Mean Starving

Dieting Should Not Mean Starving

My wife’s profile is a little fat despite her very skinny body and she is well aware of it, actually too aware of it. She exercises regularly for about one hour per day which she does not compromise under any circumstances. So it is not a big deal for her to burn off the overall body fat.

For the last twenty five years she has been exercising regularly with almost no break, which is probably great and keeps her fit. But the problem is with her dieting, as she is so active every day and burning off calories she does not need to starve herself at all.

She never eats breakfast and believe me in this southern part of the country, a good breakfast is very common. Mostly fermented steamed rice cake is the main breakfast, which is also suitable for the tropical climate. The consumption of fermented rice and black gram paste cooked or steamed with rice powder provides sufficient fiber and starch.

She does not eat breakfast and walks around hungry half of the day. As she is so worried about getting fat, she eats a small lunch after no breakfast. She also dislikes drinking water even though how warm it is where we are and how much she exercises. She had a healthy brown complexion twenty years ago, her complexion gradually faded and she looks quite pale now. And I insisted that she went to the doctor.

On medical check up, doctor advised that she is facing the problem of acidity and gave her a medication to use regularly and told her that occasional fasting with good intake of water is way better than what she is putting herself through now.

If you are overly worried about getting fat, starving yourself will make things much worse. We are all given certain body shapes which can partly be changed or can’t be at all depending on parents’ physiques- like my wife’s slightly fat profile. Don’t worry about small thing, learn to live with it, eat healthy and be happy.
