Is It Possible to Be Obese And Healthy?
Is It Possible to Be Obese And Healthy? Despite several studies suggesting that obese and overweight could stay healthy, Canadian scientists have put an end to this hope: Obesity and health do not coexist!
Their recent study finds that playing sports does not protect obese people from health risks they have in the obesity or overweight state. To protect oneself against this, the only solution is to lose weight. Does this mean that it is impossible being obese and in perfect health?
There are three different stages of obesity: Stage 1 which is from 30 to 35 kilograms per square meter, the second stage ranging from 35 to 40, and finally the stage 3 which starts at 40kg per sqm. It would be impossible for you to be healthy when you are at stage 3- it is inherently incompatible with being healthy.

Indeed, from this level onwards, obesity will damage the joints, which will push the release of inflammatory substances that will unfortunately attack the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system. So yes it is pretty incompatible.
It may be possible to exercise if there are no metabolic complications. But then you have to practice it under supervision. Telling an obese or overweight person to go and exercise alone is like inviting them to problems. And exercise does not make one lose weight, it helps to stabilize at a new level of weight reached after weight loss.
So are all obese or overweight people equal? Do they run the same risks, or differences exist depending on the nature of their obesity?
All human beings are a little different, there has never real equivalence. Some people have metabolic complications, others have joint problems. It also depends on the genetic structure of each individual: We do not know why adipose tissue becomes diseased tissue that can secrete inflammatory substances. It is not at the same stage for everyone and hard to respond accurately.
Are there certain type of people that are more at risk of developing diseases linked to obesity? Or are we all equal before the dangers of weight gain or certain metabolisms resist the risks?
There are those who come from families of obese people but also those who have a family history of diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Then we have the metabolic characteristics of people- of when they are not obese- that play a role in the development of diseases when they become obese.
We are therefore not all equal before the onset of problems- we are as different as obese people as we are unequal eaters.
