Rapid Weight Loss

Rapid Weight Loss

World wide web is full of rapid weight loss products and fad diet ads promising rapid weight loss in no time and with not much effort. None of them are FDA controlled and the sellers of these products make whatever claim they want to make the profit they aim for.

It is not all that easy to lose ten pounds in a week as promised in those fad diets and you are not always burning fat when you go on a rapid weight loss program, but usually muscles and water. Radical and quick changes in your body often puts a burden on your immunity and cardiovascular health, by not allowing your body to adjust to the changes it is going through. Everything should be in moderation in life.

A small percentage of rapid weight loss programs can work but they are certainly not for the long-term, results are often short-lived. And I am not sure if the pills do really help you burn fat or increase your body metabolism. It is always your reduced calorie intake and how much you exercise. So the products and diet programs that help you reduce your daily calorie intake and ask you to exercise and keep active every day are the ones that usually work.

Rapid weight loss often comes with many side effects too, such as hair loss, fatigue, muscle loss, headache, depression and moodiness, irritability, dizziness, constipation, dehydration, gallstones, bone loss, electrolyte imbalances, binge eating and more.

Rapid Weight Loss

Your body will often be deprived of essential minerals, vitamins and your metabolism- your ability to lose weight will be slowed down. You need to eat from a variety of foods and food groups to get all the nutrients your body needs. Any diet program that eliminates a food group is usually no good for you.

The only time losing weight quickly is safe is when it’s done under your doctor’s supervision if your weight and obesity levels are no longer safe anymore and you are put on a very low calorie diet combined with regular exercise. You may also start quick with these programs but you will always continue slow- one to two pounds a week to be able to maintain the rate in the long term. Fast weight loss often means going back to what you used to do- it is not sustainable. And you will be fat again in no time, whether your health is affected badly or not.

I have never been keen on calorie counting but if you must, simply burn 500 more calories than you eat every day and at the end of the week, you will have lost 1.5 pounds easily. Normal and sustainable weight loss is not more than 3 pounds per week for overweight adults and not more than 5 pounds per week for the obese and the extremely obese. So forget about those diet pills, creams, fad diets or any unrealistic products and stick to eating healthy, exercising regularly and focusing on changing those negative eating habits. If anything sounds or looks too good to be real, it usually is. Don’t fall for the quick fixes that will keep you away from long-term success.
